The Clinton Raceway will once again be the scene of an event remembering a well-known figure in the area.
The Vic Hayter Memorial Trot is happening on Sunday in memory of Hayter who owned and operated many hotels in the region including The Arden Park Hotel and Festival Inn in Stratford.
Hayter was also an avid horse lover and supporter of the raceway in Clinton and he owned standardbred for 38 years, he passed away in 2016 at the age of 77 from cancer.
Tony Elliott is the Assistant General Manager at the Clinton Raceway and he says they’re excited to be holding the trot for another year.
“We always invite out a fantastic field of preferred trotters to celebrate his love for racing and all that he’s done for Clinton Raceway.”
The purse for this year’s trot is $12,500.
