A Stratford man has been caught up in a massive investigation into child sexual abuse and exploitation on the internet. Martin McCormick, who is 50-years-old, has been charged with two counts of possession and one count of accessing child pornography.
The OPP says the investigation was a coordinated effort by police forces across Ontario including the Stratford Police. A total of 174 search warrants were executed leading to 274 charges against 80 people.
Police say they identified 20 victims who were referred to community-based resources for help. On top of that nine people who were working in the sex trade as a minor or against their will were rescued.
