Breaking: Respiratory outbreak declared at Seaforth Community Hospital

A respiratory outbreak has been declared at the Seaforth Community Hospital.

Officials with the Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance say it’s in the hospital’s Inpatient Unit which is now closed to admissions.

An outbreak is declared when there are two cases of acute respiratory infection within 48 hours in the same unit, at least one of which must be laboratory-confirmed.

Late last week, COVID-19 outbreaks were declared at Stratford General Hospital and Listowel Memorial Hospital.
