Crews preparing for winter storm to hit Stratford

Stratford’s Public Works department is getting ready for another winter storm.

Environment Canada says the snow will start falling around noon on Thursday and continue through to Friday morning with as much as ten centimetres expected to come down.

Crews have already begun treating roads including anti-icing them, which is a proactive step that involves applying a melting agent to the road.

The amount of salt included in the brine is carefully controlled to minimize the impact on the environment.

The forecast is also calling for a good chance of flurries both Saturday and Sunday as well.
