It’s one of the the local humane society’s most beloved campaigns.
Bake for the Animals features treats sold by bakeries, cafe’s and community members, with all proceeds going to support animals in care.
Humane Society of Kitchener Waterloo & Stratford Perth Director of Marketing and Community Engagement Dennis Roberts said the fundraiser has been running for over a decade.
“It started off as cupcake day, where people would bake cupcakes and they’d raise money for the animals in our care. Then we took it and evolved it into what it is today.”
Participating businesses take part through the Pastry Path, which encourages people to buy certain treats to help out the cause.
The Barkery, Livery Yard, and 53 North Restaurant are involved this year.
The society said you can also host a bake sale at school, work, or for your friends and family to collect donations. You can register your sale here.
The sale runs through February.
You can also hold an offline fundraiser/donate directly.
The organization aims to raise $10,000, and has so far reached $1,070.
