Impaired charge for driver asleep at intersection

A Mildmay resident faces an operation while impaired by drug charge after police say they fell asleep in a vehicle at an intersection.

A traffic complaint led Perth OPP to the intersection of Perth Line 44 and Perth Road 119, near Gadshill, shortly after 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Police say the driver displayed signs of impairment by drug and was tested by a drug recognition expert.

The 28-year-old was arrested, charged and released from custody. The matter will be addressed at Ontario Court of Justice.
