Free poetry get together at Stratford Perth Museum

Some of the country’s best poets are descending on the Festival City.

Seven poets will be at Stratford Perth Museum Saturday for the return of Summertime Poetry Soiree.

Event host and Stratford Poet Laureate David Stones describes them as some of the best in Canada.

A.F. Moritz, John B. Lee, Ronda Wicks Eller, Katerina Vaughan Fretwell, Penn Kemp, Irina Moga, and Richard Yves-Sitoski will read poetry.

“That’s going to be the first half of the program, the second will be open mic.”

Open mic will allow audience members to get up on stage and read poetry for two to three minutes.

Stones said it allows poetry lovers to share the stage with experienced writers.

Admission is free and the event gets going at 1 p.m.
