Doc on renowned Anishinaabe artist to be screened at Falstaff Family Centre

A documentary chronicling the celebrated career of an artist, muralist, and teacher will be screened in the Festival City.

The Creation Story of Michael ‘Cy’ Cywink is scheduled to be shown at Falstaff Family Centre on Sept. 12.

Directed by Cory Bilyea of EagleEyes Media Productions, the documentary follows the 40-year career of Cywink, an Anishinaabe artist known for painting hundreds of murals across Ontario, mentoring youth and bridging communities.

Cywink passed away at the age of 71.

Bilyea said the screening is a celebration of his journey.

“I hope it inspires everyone who watches it to carry forward his message of unity, mentorship, and deep respect for storytelling.”

The screening is scheduled for 2 p.m.
