Insights, reflections and commentary at United Way blog

It’s a blog about important community concerns.

United Way Perth-Huron’s Social Research and Planning Council has 16 posts and counting on the United Insights Blog, covering poverty, housing, homelessness, inclusion, and demographic trends.

Kristin Crane, VP, Community Impact and Research, said the blog helps the council stay connected with interested readers and share their research with more broadly.

The blog can be accessed on the United Way’s website and through a subscription newsletter.

It features new work by the SRPC team and volunteer contributions.

United Way said it includes the Painting by Numbers series by Robert Stanton exploring the possibilities of publicly available data, and a series on youth homelessness by social policy consultant Cassandra Vink.

Developing posts focus on the local workforce, incorporating Indigenous practices into service delivery and the unique aspects of rural life.

The council is also welcoming community pitches, which offers a chance to get more expertise on the blog.

Crane said part of the goal is to give local experts a platform to share their knowledge and reach an engaged audience.
