A community of hope and support: Kidney Walk returns to Upper Queens Park

Organizers hope to continue fundraising momentum to support people with kidney disease in Stratford.

The Kidney Walk is scheduled to return at Upper Queens Park by the bandshell Oct. 3, starting at 10 a.m.

The walk is hosted by the Kidney Foundation of Canada, who build programs and awareness campaigns to help Canadians living with the disease.

Event organizer Leigh-Anne Quinn said every dollar raised represents hope for patients and families.

“You may not realize it, but chances are you know someone whose life has been touched by kidney disease and by supporting a kidney walk, you’re really helping ensure patients and families don’t face that journey alone.”

Last year’s walk raised $18,000 while the goal this time around is a modest $11,000.

“It will fund critical patient support, education, advocacy and research.”

You can register online or in-person on the day of the event at 9 a.m.
