Disposal day offers easy spot to put away hazardous waste

The Town of St. Marys is offering the community a safe and convenient way to get rid of hazardous waste.

The town is hosting a municipal hazardous and special product disposal day on Halloween morning.

Residents can bring waste to the municipal operations centre, including acids, aerosol cans, antifreeze, bases, batteries, bleach, compact fluorescent light bulbs, fluorescent tubes, fertilizers, fuels, garden and pool chemicals, household cleaners, motor oil, paints, pesticides, and propane tanks/cylinders, solvents, stains and paint thinner.

Items should be sealed in original containers with labels, and should be transported in the rear of vehicles.

You’re asked to stay in your vehicle at all times as staff unload the materials.

The event runs from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
