Robert (Bob) Phillips, age 70, of Stratford passed away peacefully at the Stratford General Hospital on April 14, 2014 with family by his side. Bob was born in Stratford, son of the late Melvin and Mary Phillips. Beloved husband of Margaret (Lennon) who predeceased him July 19, 2006. Loving father of Matt Phillips (Martyn), Janet Divita (Lou), Sheila Phillips. Grandfather of Benjamin and Mary Divita. Also survived by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Anthony Lennon (Ann), Vincent Lennon (Marlene) and their families. Besides his parents and wife he was predeceased by a son Mark John in infancy and by a by a brother William Phillips. Robert worked at Standard Products until his retirement. He later worked at Sears in Stratford. Bob was a member of St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Stratford, the Knights of Columbus, Kilroy Council 1431 and the Justice J. M. King 4th Degree Assembly. Friends and relatives may call at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron St. Stratford on Tuesday, April 15, from 7-9 p.m. and on Wednesday at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 96 Huron Street, Stratford from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Fr. Dick Bester – Celebrant. Interment in Avondale Cemetery.
