Cases of Flu Show Signs of Waning in Perth County

The Perth District Health Unit says there are signs cases of the flu in the region are dropping.

In total, 25 cases of Influenza A and 20 cases of Influenza B have been lab-tested and confirmed as of January 29th.

In contrast, the Huron County Health Unit has reported a spike in cases, especially in seniors’ centres, which has raised concerns over complications such as pneumonia.

The PDHU says the flu-shot is still your best bet in protecting yourself and the spread of the virus.

Public Health Nurse Lorna Askes says stay at home if you are sick, make sure to constantly wash your hands and to cough or sneeze into your sleeve to prevent its spread.
