Alert neighbour helps police arrest teens

Stratford Police have charged three teenagers after a neighbour called police yesterday afternoon.

The neighbour noticed three young people in a backyard on White Street in Stratford.   The witness called the police and was able to give a description of the suspects.

Officers found them, but one tried to run.  He was caught a short time later and faces additional charges of Possession of Break and Enter Tools, Escape Lawful Custody and Resist Arrest.

After investigation police determined a house on White Street had been broken into.

The 14-year olds have been released into the care of their parents.  They cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

SPS says the neighbour was the reason they were able to find and arrest the youths and encourage everyone to keep a sharp eye on your neighbour’s property and call police when you see suspicious behaviour.

They have a court date in early April.
