Stratford Festival’s 67th season opens Monday night

There’s a buzz in the air with another Stratford Festival set to get underway.

Monday night is opening night for the 67th season of the festival with a performance of Othello taking place at the Festival Theatre.

Officials with the festival have chosen the theme of this year’s shows to be centred around “breaking boundaries.”

Stratford Festival Publicity Director Ann Swerdfager says Othello is an amazing performance to take in.

“It’s modern but when you walk into that Festival Theatre you’ve never seen the stage look like it before, projections form the major part of the design.”

Billy Elliott the musical starts its run at the festival Tuesday night.
