Tips to keep your home safe while you’re on vacation

If you’re planning on going away for the summer, make sure you plan to keep your home safe.

Lots of things can happen to your place if it’s left unattended. Gaelan Minhinnick from McKillop Insurance says you should recruit a friend or family member to keep an eye on things:

Minhinnick adds investing in a security system could save you money in more ways than just keeping your stuff safe:

The person you recruit should check on your home at least every couple of days. They should also do things like empty your mailbox as piled up papers can let thieves know nobody is home.
