Communities In Bloom could hold National Symposium in Stratford

Stratford could be in the international spotlight come September 2025.

Stratford City Council voted at their meeting Monday night to support a request from the Communities In Bloom Committee for a $40,000 loan, use of the Rotary Complex, and permission to seek sponsorships, all in an effort to host a National Symposium.

CIB is a not-for-profit organization that fosters civic pride in municipalities and hosts an awards ceremony and a symposium in one of its locations every year

CIB member Carys Wyn Hughes says she expects over two hundred people would come here for the event that would take place from October 16th to the 19th.

“It’s a win-win for the community, people are going to stay here, people are going to shop here, and they then might turn around say I’m going to come back again.”

The CIB members say the $40,000 loan will be paid back in full from money collected through registration fees.
