Library elevator gets city council nod for modernization

City council voted unanimously on Monday night to ‘modernize’ the elevator at Stratford Public Library, at a cost of $189,677.

Manager of Community Facilities Mark Hackett said in his report the modernization is to ensure elevator components and controls meet safety and security standards.

According to the report, the goal is to extend the elevator’s life by 20 years, improve safety, reliability, operation and energy efficiency.
