A local fundraiser aims to help the homeless while showcasing multiple cultures.
Run by the Multicultural Association of Huron-Perth, Stratford, One World One Day is an event focused on raising donations to support the homeless and the mobile food bank.
The association will offer food from 90 countries, and every donation over $20 per person will get a tax receipt.
Multicultural association President and Stratford city councillor Geza Wordofa said they’re covering for the food bank on the weekends.
“Friday evening, Saturday, and Sunday, we deliver food to people in need, and in our line of work, we get a lot of calls,” said Wordofa.
“We don’t want to see somebody starving or somebody to sleep in the cold night.”
The event has no admission fee, and is running at the Rotary Complex Dec. 21 from 4 to 7 p.m.
