A real community celebration for everyone at Diwali Festival

The festival of lights is a festival for everyone.

Market Square is the venue on Saturday from 5-8 p.m. for a Diwali Festival.

Organizers including Harj and Cheryl Nijjar are inviting the community to take part in a cultural celebration.

“It’s really special to see Stratford come together for our first ever Diwali celebration. Diwali is a festival of lights and it’s about hope, family, community and togetherness.”

Harj Nijjar said guests can expect music, food, cultural performances and a colourful celebration.

“It’s really about bringing the community together to celebrate the festival of lights and sharing the traditions and spirit of Diwali with everyone…meet our neighbours and learn more about each other. That’s how we continue building a welcoming and connected Stratford.”

He adds that for newcomers as well as families who have lived here for many years, it’s special to share culture and traditions.

The weather looks favourable, however, the rain location is the Agriplex Community Hall.
