Christmas Market to raise funds for local Alzheimer Society

Stratford Makers Market is celebrating the holidays early.

The Christmas market is scheduled to return for three days this month at the Rotary Complex, with all proceeds going towards Alzheimer Society Huron-Perth.

“It’s a charity that touches almost everyone’s lives, I feel like everyone knows someone that has been touched by dementia or Alzheimer’s so I feel that it’s a really important charity this year that we’ve chosen,” co-founder Sara Clarke told MyStratfordNow.

She said the market has grown into a community event and 120 hand-made vendors are attending.

The first 100 people in line on opening day get a market bag with a $5 coupon that can be used for any vendor.

Day two includes a photo booth with Mr. and Mrs. Claus, while day three has superheroes, princesses, a balloon artist and a photo booth with Cinderella.

Admission is by donation.

The market runs Nov. 20 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Nov. 21 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Nov. 22 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
