Not clearing snow and ice downtown can lead to $115 fine

The winter weather has arrived and the City of Stratford is reminding people about snow and ice removal. Stratford by-laws require the sidewalks in the core area of the city to be cleared.

It’s up to the person who owns, occupies or is in charge of any building adjacent to the sidewalks to make sure they’re shovelled. Ice and snow has to be cleared from roofs as well if it can fall onto the sidewalk or street.

The fine for not clearing is $115.
