The City of Stratford marked Invictus Day by honouring one of its own with a key to the city.
Brigadier-General Mark Campbell was recognized on Saturday at City Hall.
Campbell says many of his mentors growing up were from the old Perth Regiment, many of whom were in attendance for the ceremony.
Campbell was promoted to Brigadier-General last year since climbing the ranks as a Private in Stratford in 1981.
The annual Invictus Games kicked off this weekend in Toronto.
