South Western Ontario Sees Highest Rate of Roadside Deaths and Injuries due to Driving Behavior

South western OPP detachments have been trying to do their part in cutting down on drivers being hurt or getting killed on our roads.

According to provincial statistics, our region has the most incidents of fatal crashes than anywhere else in Ontario.

A Traffic Management plan which involves nearly 130 officers charging over 500 drivers has been targeting bad driving behaviour.

It refers to drivers not wearing their seat belts, commercial vehicle neglect, speed and following too close.

With 100 of those drivers charged in the last week, the OPP in south western Ontario says it’s seen a steady decrease in roadside deaths and injuries.
