One year later, police still investigating bomb threat at Stratford Festival

Stratford Police say they are continuing to investigate the bomb threat that cancelled last year’s opening night for the Stratford Festival.

Police say a threat was made over the telephone just before the opening of The Tempest which lead to the evacuation of the Festival and Avon Theatres.

It was the first time in the festival’s history that opening night was cancelled.

Police tell MyStratfordNow.com that they have a command post set up at the Festival Theatre and will have an increased police presence at Monday night’s show.

They add they have an operational plan in place and will be ensuring the performance takes place in a safe environment.
