Mixed reaction on mask guidelines in Huron Perth

It appears to be a mixed bag when it comes to feedback on face-covering guidelines in Huron Perth.

It was back on July 17th that the guidelines from Huron Perth Public Health on wearing masks in commercial establishments in the region came into effect.

Since then, Medical Officer of Health Dr. Miriam Klassen says they’ve heard from those who are in favor of it and also those who aren’t fond of it.

Dr.Klassen says a survey hasn’t been done locally but they have been done in other places in Ontario and she says most respondents understand the concept of wearing a mask.

She says they have heard from businesses who support the idea and she says currently the evidence shows masks will help us keep cases as low as possible.

Dr. Klassen says the virus is “not gone and we need to learn to live with it.”
