The Stratford Police and the Perth County OPP will be out in force this holiday weekend. They’re taking part in Operation Impact.
It’s a Canada-wide crackdown on the “Big Four” of bad driving. That’s speeding, not wearing a seat belt, and distracted or impaired driving.
Inspector Sam Theocharis with the Stratford Police says there have been a number of deaths and serious injuries caused by crashes in the last several months in our area. He calls that unacceptable.
Province-wide there have been 227 road deaths on OPP patrolled roads this year, 170 of which were caused by the “Big Four.”
