WITNESS: Free community library in Stratford destroyed by deliberately set fire

It appears a free community library has been destroyed by a deliberately set fire in Stratford.

A witness tells My Stratford Now.com that they were woken up by Stratford Firefighters around 1:30 Friday morning as someone had deliberately set fire to the Little Free Library in front of their home on Youngs Street, near St.Vincent Street.

Stratford Fire Chief John Paradis tells My Stratford Now.com that the cause of the fire has yet to be determined.

The witness says the firefighters put the blaze out after someone had reported flames coming out of it that could be seen from the Stratford General Hospital.

No one was injured in the blaze, according to the witness, but it will take a while before the library is able to be rebuilt.
