UPDATE: Damage pegged at the $425-thousand mark after blaze in Perth County

Officials say the fire that destroyed a home near Rostock caused around $425-thousand in damage.
They say that a cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
Those living in the home made it out safely but firefighters say a dog perished in the blaze.

One person was taken to hospital and a home has been destroyed by a fire in Perth County.
Several area fire departments were called out to the blaze on Road 135, north of Rostock around six o’clock Sunday night.
The home was fully engulfed in flames when crews arrived but those living there were all safely outside.
One person was taken to the hospital as a precaution but they were later released.
A cause and a damage estimate from the blaze haven’t been released yet.
The road was closed in the area while firefighters were on scene.
