Ultimate Burger Battle may determine who has the tastiest burger

It’s almost burger time in Stratford.

United Way Perth-Huron and Downtown Stratford BIA are bringing back the Ultimate Burger Battle. For every burger sold by a participating business in November, $2 goes directly to United Way’s programs and services.

Participating businesses include 53 North by Stratford Country Club, Bentley’s, Café Buffon, Chuck’s Roadhouse, Foster’s Inn, Gilly’s Pubhouse in St. Marys and Stratford, Mercer Hall, Montana’s BBQ & Bar, Romeo’s Corner Café, The Starlight and Work Pub & Eatery.

A panel of judges will try the burgers and decide on the ‘Ultimate Burger’ prize winner.

Judges include 107.7 2DayFM Afternoon Drive host Kate Ahrens, Local Community Food Centre Executive Director John Brightwell, Stratford Festival star Henry Firmston, co-owner of the Boathouse, Kelan Herr, and Home & Company Real Estate realtor Shane Oosterhoff.

Ahrens said it’s a fantastic way to support United Way and local restaurants.

The panel event takes place Nov. 12 at Destination Stratford, starting at 2 p.m.

Residents are encouraged to visit as many of the restaurants as possible throughout November, try the featured burgers and vote for their favourites.

The awards include People’s Choice and Most Burgers Sold.
