Police crediting Good Samaritan with saving woman from house fire in Zorra Township

Police are crediting a Good Samaritan with saving a woman’s life in Zorra Township.

Around 9:15 last Thursday night, Oxford County OPP say first responders were called to a fully engulfed house fire on Huron Street.

They say they learned through their investigation that a man had been driving by the house when he noticed the rear of the home was on fire.

According to police, the man stopped his vehicle and ran to the house where he was able to wake up a sleeping 38-year-old woman.

She and her dog, an elderly golden retriever, were both safely removed from the home.
