Ontario announces $3.4 million for transportation in Perth-Wellington

Getting around the area might be about to get easier thanks to funding from Ontario.

On Friday, Randy Pettapiece, the MPP for Perth-Wellington, announced $3.4 million in funding is coming from the province to go towards local transit projects.

Through the Community Transportation Grant Program, Perth County and the City of Stratford will get $1.4 million while Wellington County will receive over $449 thousand.

The Perth County Transit System aims to link the communities of Stratford, St.Marys, Mitchell, Sebringville, Monkton, Atwood, Milverton, Listowel, and Millbank.

The funding will also create a Stratford/Perth Regional Transportation Service connecting communities to intermodal services in London and Kitchener.
