A tow truck driver is recovering from unknown injuries after police say they were hit by a vehicle just outside Kitchener.
Police say they were called to Highway 7/8 eastbound, east of Trussler Road, around 7 o’clock Monday morning after the driver who was trying to help a driver on the side of the road was hit by an oncoming pick up truck.
According to police, the driver was pinned to the tow truck and suffered injuries that aren’t considered life-threatening.
The right lane of the highway was closed off for several hours while emergency crews were on scene but it reopened around noon.
Police haven’t said if any charges will be laid.
